IGN Reviews The Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Season 2

aemhs2

Well, Avengers EMH is officially over. The second season was intense and made it even more difficult to accept that the series is over, IGN seems to share my view and awarded the second season an 8.4 and labeled it “Great”.

From IGN: ” Again, it was the emergence of the more relatively obscure and non-Avengers characters that made the early portion of Season 2 interesting. “Michael Korvac” and “The Ballad of Beta Ray Bill” were easily the highlights of the season prior to its first hiatus. The former introduced the Guardians of the Galaxy and offered a loose adaptation of what many consider to be one of the greatest Avengers conflicts of all time. As for the latter, few would argue that Walt Simonson’s Thor comics aren’t among the best in the character’s history. To see the early issues so faithfully adapted on the small screen was a real treat. Unfortunately, one of the most unfortunate results of the show’s cancellation was that the lingering threat of Surtur was never resolved.

Jeph Loeb talks Avengers Assemble and Hulk Agents of SMASH to MTV

Fan’s outcry has been heard? Man of Action CONFIRMS that Avengers Assemble is a TRUE continuation of Avengers EMH !!!

Sure we all heard Mr Loeb mentioning it couple times, but we all doubted that Marvel’s upcoming Avengers Assemble animated series will be, really, a sequel to the soon to end, excellent, Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes. However, it now seems that, as fans, we jumped the gun. Man of Action(Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joseph Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle), who have recently been revealed as the Executive producers for the upcoming show, confirmed that Avengers Assemble will not contradict Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and while different in tone, it will serve as a TRUE continuation of the current show.

From Man Of Action: “It will continue much of what the movie started, it’ll be slightly different from Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. It’s really going to focus on the core characters… but it is not some kind of drastic change from Earth’s Mightiest Heroes into Marvel’s Avengers Assemble. Everything that’s established in [Earth’s Mightiest Heroes] and just running from that point on. It’s like Bendis’ Avengers going into Marvel NOW! Avengers… Everything that happened in Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, we’re going to keep consistency from that, to the new show.”

Straight from the New York Comic Con, Jeph Loeb announced, via the Marvel Television Panel, that both Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of SMASH has been officially picked up by Disney XD. An official announcement was also released to the press, and read as follow:

Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle of Man of Action Studios will serve as executive producers.

In “Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.,” the Hulk he is joined by his larger-than-life teammates and unconventional family — his cousin She-Hulk, the irascible Red Hulk, the exuberant A-Bomb and the savage Skaar. Paul Dini and Henry Gilroy lead the creative team. The voice cast includes: Fred Tatasciore as Hulk, Clancy Brown as Red Hulk, Eliza Dushku as She-Hulk, Ben Diskin as Skaar and Seth Green as A-Bomb.”

SDCC: Test footage of Avengers Assemble description and more details about the show

At the Marvel Television panel, Jeph Loeb talked about how Avengers Assemble is the spritiual continuation of avengers EMH, and how the show is aimed at a broader audience than before (again confirming AgentX report).

Loeb then went ahead and showed a test footage of the show (again like agentx reported) and below is a description of the clip from Marvel’s Strommy:

We’re watching the animation test for Marvel’s Avengers Assemble now! This is the first time anyone outside of Marvel has seen this!
A giant dragon thing is tearing apart Manhattan, and Iron Man’s flying a Quinjet with the Avengers in it! Hulk just pushed Thor aside and told him “you’ll be lucky if there’s anything left to smash”, then jumped out before him
Hawkeye and Cap are flying in on mini jets!
Iron Man launches a barrage of missiles at the monster, knocking him down–but he’s still getting back up for Round Two!

No news regarding the release date of the series has been revealed.

UPDATED: SDCC: Fans ask Joe Quesada and Loeb about the transition from avengers EMH to avengers Assemble

The Cup’o Joe SDCC panel is happening right now! The panel is a medium were fans get to ask Joe Quesada  (and Jeph Loeb in this case) any questions they want. One of the question was a bout the transition from avengers EMH to Avengers Assemble. Below is their answer as written by Marvel’s strommy (who is live blogging from the vent)

Strommy: Marvel’s Avengers Assemble will be a little closer to the film–they’re not saying Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! didn’t happen, it’s just the next generation in the Avengers cartoon’s evolution.

They’re not doing an origin of the Avengers–it’s akin to when Bendis created New Avengers. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! will reach the conclusion of its story at the end of the 52 episodes, and that’s the conclusion they’ve known about and been building to.

More information should be revealed at the Marvel Television panel tomorrow. But for now what do you guys think of Quesada’s and Loeb’s answer ?

Keep checking MarvelTvnews for the latest news and announcements.

Is Marvel making a new Iron-Man Cartoon ? It sure seems that way

It seems Marvel animation is working on more and more series as we speak. After Ultimate Spider-man, Hulk and The agents of SMASH, and the now confirmed Avengers Assemble, it seems that the iron avenger will have his won solo cartoon.

Speaking to the hollywood reporter, Gary Marsh, president of the Disney Channel had this to say: ” Two months ago, we launched Marvel Universe on Disney XD, which became the exclusive home for new Marvel television content. We’ve developed Ultimate Spider-Man. Subsequent to the success of the Avengers movie, we’ve been developing a new Avengers Assemble. We’re talking about a Hulk series and an Iron Man series, too. They’re going to spend $150 million to $200 million to make these [movie] properties and then half of that to market them; I’m sitting here thinking, “Thank you, Lord, you’ve made me look good.

It seems that Mr Marsh had let the cat out of the bag and confirmed an Iron-Man cartoon series in the making, before Marvel confirms it. Let’s hope we get more details at the San Diego Comic Con next month.

EXCLUSIVE: “Agent X” spills the bean on the future of Marvel Animation, and did he just mention a new X-men TV series ?

Our trusted friend and, Marvel insider, Agent X is back with more EXCITING reveals. After, his earlier leaks were confirmed by yesterday’s Avengers Assemble announcement, Agent X revealed to me today Marvel’s future plans regarding its animation division. This also includes some fun facts about Comic con panel. While all his previous info have been proven correct, I will still suggest to take the below news with a grain of Salt.

As requested by agentX, i have reworded all what he revealed, so that his won’t get recognized by Marvel

*Disclaimer from AgentX: The info provided is accurate as of today. In the ream of Animation, changes happen all the time. So between now and series announcement and premiere couple things might change*

Regarding Ultimate Spider-man:

- Marvel knows how much fans hate the show. They know, that they messed up when they could have brought both kids and adults fans together, instead of focusing on the children. Regardless of what their PR BS makes it sound, the reason Ultimate Spider-man has been renewed for a second season, is that the network ordered the second season WAY before the series debut. The publicity stunt Marvel pulled by stating the show has been renewed by popular demand, is just a strategy to try and tell fans that people like this show maybe you should give it a second chance.
