After last week’s announcement of Iron & Hulk: Heores United, we really did not see another DTV feature being announced anytime soon. Yet Marvel has surprised us with Iron: Rise of technovore, a new Anime movie from Marvel and Japanese Studio Madhouse. Below is the full press release:
Directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki (“Shigurui,” “TEXHNOLYZE”), with story by Brandon Auman (“The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!,” “Iron Man: Armored Adventures”), the film explores a confrontation between Iron Man and the villainous Ezekiel Stane, who develops new bio-technology that seemingly outclasses the Iron Man armor. After Stane unleashes a terrorist attack and sets Tony Stark up to take the fall, Iron Man must evade S.H.I.E.L.D.’s man hunt and find a way to clear his name.
“Marvel is excited to present an all-new Iron Man adventure featuring the high-tech adrenaline he is known for, in the beautifully rendered anime style of our friends at Madhouse,” said Associate Producer Megan Thomas Bradner. “We’ll get to see familiar Marvel super heroes such as War Machine, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye and the Punisher, rendered in anime style for the first time. It’s a can’t miss for any Marvel fan.”
Iron Man: Rise of Technovore will be released on Home video in Spring 2013. More details are expected to surface at this year’s NY Comic con’s Marvel Tv panel, scheduled for this coming Saturday.
And before people start bashing the news because, of the less than stellar, Iron Man anime series, by the same studio and written by Warren Ellis, let me tell you this: The Iron-Man anime, as well as the previous Marvel Anime series, were made with the intention of making the Marvel characters popular in Japan. In order to do that, the story for these anime had to appeal to Japanese audience, thus all the series plot revolved around the hero being in Japan. However this time around, this anime feature film is written by Bradon Auman, a writer who gave some excellent Avenger’s EMH episodes, such as “Ultron Unlimited” and “to steal an Ant-Man”. Therefore hold your horses and wait for, at least, more info and a trailer.
Remember kids, Anime is like any form of media, it all depends on the story!

Marvel anime sucked because warren elis sucked. X-men was still awesome though, somehow.
hopefully there will no cgi shit when tony suits up like the anime series.
