During last week’s comic con, the main writers of the Ultimate Spider-man show, Man of action studios, were asked about the show and how it is quite controversial. Wtahc the video below to hear the writers respond to such a hot question:
Summary:
Man of action, basically, stated that the show is not controversial, and only some people who “live in the internet” are vocal about it. They also mentioned that Ultimate spider-man is for kids, and Marvel should make shows similar to it, thus targeting boys of 6 to 10 years old.
Being a 30 year old man who grew up on the 90′s Marvel shows(that were far better written and were enjoyed by both kids and their parents), i am not sure i am happy about that answer nor that attitude. what about you folks ?

Sigh!
No offense to Jersey people, but these Man of action guys easily look like they are from Jersey. With their indoor shades, and smirk, all they need is some fake orange tan.
such a lame group of incompetent writers, that’s what they are. The inability of writing a show that boh kids and adults enjoy is proof enough of their incompetence.

They are write. Kids love the show and the only people complaining are Fanboys that can’t grow up and waste their time complaining about kid shows instead of doing something constructive with their life.

Hoth,
I have a life buddy, i am married, i have a job, a family to take care off. and i am doing a good job at what i do, and guess what? I am a Marvel fan who enjoys GOOD animated series on my spare time (mainly at night) and I hate Ultimate spider-man and thinks its an insult to us fans who grew up on the comics.
so what’s your point, cause i really don’t see it.

You aren’t trying to see any point other than your own. You and others with your narrow-minded self-entitled attitude make me sick.
Get this: This series was not made for you. Get over it.
Who left you in charge of what is ‘good’? My son loves the show and it was intended for him. There was a time when the thought of a grown man or woman watching a cartoon was ridiculous. Now you feel they should all me made for you and your ilk with little or no regard for the kids who are the target audience. Don’t like it? Watch something else. There’s plenty out there. It’s not all about you, son.
Let the target audience grow up with something of their own and grow up yourself.
Goes for all of you foul mouthed, closed-minded, self-entitled fanboys.
See out that window? That’s life. Go get some. (or you can come back and insult me and prove my point)

I have not watched the video but they are right. The show is definitely for kids. As a long time fan I was upset that it was not a cartoon version of the actual Ultimate Spider-man but as I watch my 6 year old thoroughly enjoy the show I am okay with it. I have had my own versions of Spider-man in the movies and the 90′s series and the comics. I am glad that my son now has his own. As long as all the Marvel shows are not aimed at kids I do not see what the problem is.

This is whats going to happen dude. The next show ‘Hulk agent of smash’ will be a kids show. And ‘Avengers assemble’ will probably be a kid show too. So whats left for us? Movies? You can’t rely on movies. One box-office failure you will have to wait for a decade for a reboot. Instead marvel should produce monthly animated movies on TV each based on comics for adults. If they do that I don’t care how many kids show they are going to make.

This was a disgusting interview and how they treat their audience is horrible.
“Why [older fans] would care about a tv cartoon is hard to wrap our brain around.”
F**K YOU!
“We were told to target it at 6-10 year olds and keep the spirit of the character.”
DOUBLE F**K YOU!!! Show me a comic where Spider-Man was a narcissistic, moronic little prick who lies cheats and steals (as seen in episode “Awesome) to get his way. I watched Spidey the 90′s series as a 7 year old and loved it! It was smart and true to the character. Not this piece of crap!

They should cancel this show and make a cartoon based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comic series (before ‘The Death of Spider-Man’, obviously), though they’d have to re-name it, to not create confusion. The show would be better then the shit thats on tv now. Sure, it’s for kids, but they should make it enjoyable for older audiences too. ‘Man of Action’? They’re assholes and only care about the money. Bring in someone who cares about the fans and redo the series.

You all sound like overgrown kids.
Let the smaller faction have a show to watch that is not all doom and gloom. There’s plenty of that to go around. You spoiled little jerks have mouthed off enough. You have your comics: read them. You have the movies: watch them. Heck, get creative and make a character that suits your liking and try to sell it.
But leave this show alone. My 9 year old, straight A, perfectly adjusted, football loving son likes it. Why?
It makes him laugh.
Grow up little boys.
The obvious clue to your immaturity is the use of cursing and (!!!!!!) after every sentence.
Perhaps an occasional night out with a girl would help.
Oh, right. Mommy doesn’t want you doing things like that.
