Well it seems that the long running rumor for Avengers Earth’s Mightiest heroes cancellation, is a rumor no more! The cancellation has been confirmed by Marvel latest official Press(Print only):
” The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” won’t be renewed for the 3rd Season. Marvel Animation will present their newly developed series “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” in 2013.”
The Press also contained the below Promo image of the upcoming Show:
The roster seems to be the movie roster plus the Falcon (Who is rumored to be part of Captain America movie sequel). The art, however, is very reminiscent of the currently running Avengers Assemble comics mini series
The series is rumored to be shown on Cartoon Network and not DisneyXD. Which sounds doubtful, since Disney owns Marvel, and is home for Ultimate Spider-man and the upcoming Hulk Agents of Smash.
According to our previous info coming from AgentX, Giant/Ant man and Black Panther will join the show down the line.
Expect to hear more info and maybe a trailer during next month’s San Diego Comic Con. Until then, we can all agree to mourn the great Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, for its premature cancellation.

In fact, a lot of little girls have become fans of Widow thanks to the movie, so having an Avengers show with Black Widow is just smart business wise.

As a female fan, I cannot even tell you how much I disagree with this. To me, as a female, Black Widow is the token promiscuous character that gets attention from fans (mostly male) because she’s attractive. Black Widow the character is a terrible role model for women and girls, so don’t lump all of us in there.
Is Wasp any better? Certainly not, especially after staying with her abusive husband, but to replace Wasp, Ms. Marvel, and Mockingbird with just Black Widow is…ugh. This is what comic fans all over the world were afraid of when Disney bought Marvel and Marvel started pumping out all of these movies: That these movies that are okay in their own right would begin to be thrust upon the comic books and television shows.

Except Black Widow isn’t Promiscuous(Though there isn’t anything wrong with that) and she is actually is a good role model and a femenist role model. Certainly more so than Wasp. They are already planing a Black Widow solo film.
She’s a badass and the movie version was loved by most female fans. Especially young girls.
And The Avengers movie sold like crazy. More people have seen the movie than the EMH toon. Hell, more people have seen the movie than the comics.
So of course Disney would want a show similar to the movie.

Hey Benny read the Ultimates and any avengers from the last 20 years with Widow in it she either betrays them or bangs them she is not someone you want as a role model. The only reason that she wasn’t promiscuous in the movies is because little children were watching that and Scarlett Johannsen is a prude.

Black widow has actually bounced from stark to daredevil to hawkeye to daredevil to stark to daredevil in the main universe. and that is me leaving out some. Oh please.
Only in the Ultimate universe could Hank Pym be described as abusive. It was ONE panel in 616, and it was one panel drawn the WRONG way. It was supposed to be an accidental backhand, but the artist who drew that assumed that it would make for better drama if Hank slapped her on purpose.
You’re also discounting the fact that Jan was TERRIBLE towards Pym during their time together, ESPECIALLY during the early days of the Avengers. She was constantly pining out loud for other men – Thor, Daredevil, pretty much everyone except Spider-Man – even when Hank was in the same room with her or within earshot. If you think Hank was an abusive husband, then Jan was certainly an abusive partner as well.

Even in the old days, when many female characters were little more than set dressing for their male counterparts to ogle, Black Widow was still a strong female character. She a tough as nails spy and a mostly baseline human who stands toe-to-toe with superpowered heroes like Hulk and Thor. She has been Avengers’ chairperson (team leader) in the past and has been an essential member of numerous rosters/teams.
Does she, on occasion, use her sexuality as a tool? Yes, absolutely. Good for her, recognizing how weak and simple the men she’s up against can be.
But here’s a girl who was taken at an early age, trained by the Soviet state to be the perfect unassuming infiltrator, and set loose on the “fascist American oppressors” who then turned that all around, beat her programming, sided with “the good guys,” and made a name for herself.
If you want to take offense at a female’s portrayal, how about Jan’s recent proclamation of “If I’m the one coming up with the battle plan, you KNOW we’re in trouble!” Janet Van Dyne has seldom been portrayed as anything more than a bitch and a slut.

Widow is used as sex appeal a lot. Most Marvel writers don’t even seem to care about her. She’s just there to wear that skin tight leather and zip that zipper a bit down for some nice boob and ass shots. But hey I feel this way about most Marvel females. Very few of them don’t come off as bland and boring set pieces to me.
Avengers EMH has made me like a bunch of characters I could never stand in the comics like Wasp, Ms Marvel, and Widow. It’s probably the key reason I’m not excited for this show. EMH made me appreciate the Marvel universe as a whole and seeing what Marvel has put out so far since Jeph Loeb has taken over I don’t have much faith in this show. It’ll probably be Man of Action and Paul Dini a third time and more of Man of Action’s influences will show then Dini’s.
Also Movie Widow strong? I’m getting sick of seeing that. Widow spent over half of Avengers crying over Hawkeye. And then doesn’t fight until the big fight where honestly she wasn’t really needed. They were overly generous letting those wrist stingers even pierce the armor… She, and Hawkeye, don’t really add anything to that film. They barely even feel like they’re on the team.
Then in EMH, while I like her there to some degree, she’s just a plot device for Hawkeye in the first season and has barely been around so far in the second one. I hardly consider either a strong female character compared to say someone like Justice League’s version of Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman’s appearance in her animated solo film (Or well anything. Even in Superfriends she held her own alongside the boys, in JL, YJ, pretty much anything with her…), and Artemis over in Young Justice.
Also all are better female role models then the former spy who murdered a bunch of people (But no its like okay now because they retconned it so she was BRAINWASHED! Much better now right?) and is most known by fans as being that character that always stabs someone in the back at least once per series.
For anyone to argue that Widow is a good female role model is baffling to me. She’s NOT a good role model. Even the movie one, who we are specifically told burned a bunch of kids alive at one point in her life. Regret it or not that’s not something you can just sweep under the rug to call her a good role model. Why? Because she fights all cool like the guys?
She was never meant to be a role model in the first place. No one should look at Marvel Superheroes as role models in general. Half of them are former alcoholics, and unlike DC you can make a clear argument that they really are the reason a lot of super villains exist as a lot of them are people who become super villains to get revenge on that hero specifically. They were created to be RELATEABLE characters. Not people you look up to. That was Marvel’s day one goal. DC’s characters were blank slates meant to inspire hope and serve as role model and Marvel wanted realistic character driven stories with people who have major flaws. Eventually DC evolved and began doing the same. But Marvel characters were never meant to be role models. They pretty much all make poor role models because that was the point. Most modern DC characters make poor ones as well seeing hove they’ve evolved. At least in the comics. Most of the cartoons still paint everyone but Batman as a good one. And even he has his moments of being a good rolemodel. Marvel really hasn’t been doing that. All the cartoons and movies still depict them as incredibly flawed assholes.
Cap is the only one who should ever be considered a role model because he’s actually supposed to be one in universe for everyone. And even he isn’t a sneaky clean wheel.

I have no problem with widow being on the team but to replace her with Ms Marvel is outrageous. Yes Widow is a great infiltrator and good fighter but Ms Marvel was the only female powerhouse on the team and now shes gone. Why does Widow have to be a role model to anyone come on guys shes a comic book character. I think she’s good the way she is sexy and Lethal (Dont anyone say I’m sexist because Im gay). But I would love to see the show and give it a far chance but I really hope the consider adding Ms Marvel to the team.

I always have a problem with Disney ownership to certain medias and how they depict female characters and sex it is too old fashion and dare say too chaste. They should stick better with their own franchises (i.e. Mickey Mouse). Spoiled my favorite comic characters and the Marvel Excelsior! Black Widow is one of my fan favorites, however Wasp is one of the founding members and need to be a mainstay. Ms. Marvel earned her following as the most popular heroine and shouldn’t be dismissed. Disney must progress to the 21st Century and portray realistically the female characters and not continue with flatness and Y7 baby girls. I want to see women as they should be all aspects not always censored.

I felt its a mistake too cancel the show, it was one my son and I would watch together. He likes Iron Man and Hulk. Recently I gave him a copy of Ultimate Avengers – The Movie. In the series Wasp wasn’t in an abusive relationship, while in the Ultimate Avengers movies, she was. I think replacing her with another character is a bad move on Marvels part. But I will watch the show just the same. I hope they don’t redo the origin stories again. And just pick up where The Avengers – EMH left off.

Anyways, my opinion on the cancellation of the show, I’m confused, honestly. This is only because when i was looking for the 3rd season, I actually found a page that gives you the episodes & a short briefing of each, like there’s even one where it says(not exact words because I can’t remember it all),”The Wrecking Crew creates a master plan to capture the Avengers, which works, and Hawkeye is their only hope.” Which is actually, according to the blog/article, that it is ep. 5 (of the season,ep. 57 of the entire season),&the premiere date is 6/7/13 (June 7th, 2013). So, is this so-called “season 3″ actually the 1st season of this upcoming new show series? Or just…..I don’t even know.
I would like to also add that I am a THG fan (The Hunger Games),so I did get into archery,&when I saw “The Avengers” movie, I instantly favored Hawkeye,plus I love the actor (Jeremy Renner). So if someone were to ask me,”who is your favorite Marvel character,as a female fan?”, they would think I would answer with a female name, but I would quickly answer with,”Hawkeye. DEAL WITH IT.”

All of you must have ADHD,because you’ve strayed from topic severely. Who gives a spit about a female or male character. they are not going to wrap up any of the previously engaging storyline s. Dooms Skrull counterpart wasn’t apprehended. Nor was Serter beat down thor just returned out of the blue in emperor Stark everything seems rushed and almost incoherent from season 1. instead of worrying about trivial things like (oh my gosh a female character is being wronged) I sincerely hope you’ve all at least watched all the episodes leading from season one. It breaks my heart to see a show that originally showed alot of promise get screwed the way this one has. if they are going to switch on us I would prefer it done in a way that at least runs of the original thought process. (MY TWO CENTS WORTH).

THIS IS ABSURD. They’d better bring Janet in when they (supposedly) bring Hank in. This is ridiculous. The art is generic and ugly. Hawkeye’s color is PURPLE not red. It’s even more purple in the movie than what it looks like in this picture. Why the hell would they leave out Panther in favor of Falcon who, frankly, I could care less about, even if he is going to be in Cap 2. I understand wanting to tie into the movie….BUT THIS JUST LOOKS UGLY AND BORING. Ugh.

The movie was popular and made them a LOT of money. They care more about that than about nine hysterical people crying on the internet that their favorite characters aren’t in a show aimed at children, anyway.

Disney wants their precious series now to have to match movie continuity rather than take from the comics (and I really don’t understand why they couldn’t just stay with that… it’s not like the Avengers as a series is on its way down the tubes)… so they have to make hawkeye and fury just the same… granted we HAD Ultimates Fury in EMH, but that is beside the point. For Clint, the purple and blue was always his iconic uniform… it’s what he’s wearing NOW for pete sake…

Yea, but all of it was expect. Wolverine and the X-Men had a problem getting financing together. EMH is being replaced by AA because Marvel is now Owned by Disney who happens to have their own animation studios. EMH probably only got a second season because Disney bought them and they didn’t want to pass-up the option for at least a second season being on the air before they switched studios. Getting the money together for animation has been difficult for Marvel. Hopefully now that they have access to their own studio and TV stations we will only risk them canceling if the ratings are low, and not because they couldn’t find anyone who back them financially.

The cancellation isn’t premature. They say they are planning to air this in 2013, which means they have been working on the new show for awhile.

I don’t know about that… the way the second season ended left a lot of loose ends in my opinion, like they had planned to link several things from the second season to be further developped in a potential third. The second half looked rushed and had a feeling of “let’s just get it over with already”. Screw the fanbase, and screw ANY character development. Plain 2D action without depths to anyone (unlike in the first season, where there was a LOT of character development).

The show creators absolutely had a plan for a 3rd season. But that idiot Jepf Loeb has came in and said he doesn’t like multiple episode story arc’s. And wants more of a one shot villain of the week. Actually, it was Disney’s idea, not Loeb. In fact, they have been working on this show over a year ago…..So EMH was never getting a third season. EMH was from before Disney bought Marvel after all.

That contradictions things that Loeb himself has said, like “One of the things that’s very unique about that show is that it was at a time prior to my coming in” and ” I don’t ever want anybody to sit down on Sunday mornings at 11 o’clock and suddenly feel like, ‘Well, I lost the last three episodes, so I don’t really know what’s going on.’”

Do these execs not live in a world of on-demand/DVR programming? That is the worst justification for pulling the plug on a series ever.

Check your facts fanboy, it wasn’t Loeb. It was Disney who wanted a new show with the movie line up. Understandable, since the movie is far more popular than EMH.
The whole world has seen the film while EMH gets lower ratings than Kickin’ it or Motorcity. Then again, Disney promotes those show, while they hardly promote EMH.

No Disney. No Disney, stop. EMH is a great show. It’s great because it doesn’t follow the movie. It’s great because it has everybody in it. It’s great because Ms. Marvel, Wasp, the villains, the plot, and the best opening song to ever grace my television. Seriously, that opening is the best. Ms. Marvel as part of the avengers is what I’ve been waiting for. EMH has the Black Panther and The Hulk and EMH had Captain America sitting next to The Human Torch!

My sons and I LOVE this show and are very sad to see it go. We own the DVD’s and watch it repeatedly on Netflix. We don’t care for any of the other cartoons on right now and find them to be poorly conceived and executed. EMH is a treasure that will be missed.

I’m going to let people here in on a dirty little secret about the entertainment industry.
When you take over as head of production on something, like say Marvel Animation, the first thing you do is you get rid of/wreck all the things your predecessor produced. This is because if these things succeed, you don’t get the credit for it, and besides “your” ideas are infinitely better than whatever *that person* came up with anyways, right?
So everything Loeb didn’t produce had to be killed quickly, or replaced with something that he’s responsible for so he can justify his huge salary and qualify for bonuses.
It’s about the money and ego.
On the plus side, the show got 52 episodes! That’s nothing to sneeze at, and it’s been a great run!

Extremely disappointed by this move. EMH is easily the best Marvel cartoon I’ve ever seen (Spectacular Spidey was a close second), and there was so much it could have done still. I’ll definitely miss it (they always gave Jan/Wasp all the best lines, which I loved). Cancelling it in favor of a new show is shortsighted. They already HAD all those characters appearing in EMH (Falcon’s due to appear in the next new ep).
So now we’re down to ONE female hero, losing Wasp and Ms. Marvel. We lose (temporarily) Giant Man and Black Panther. We lose the wonderful universe that EMH built up over the course of two seasons… For the vision of Loeb, the overrated hack who couldn’t write a good story to save his life.
I’m sick of the best shows getting cancelled because of politics. Marvel? Newsflash: ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN SUCKS. It’s had exactly ONE good episode (Exclusive). And you know why? Outside of the first two, there’s barely any continuity, zero character development, the supporting cast is an afterthought…
For THAT, you cancelled Spectacular? And now you’re gonna do the same to Avengers? FOOLS! It’s idiocy! You had a fantastic group of writers, a brilliant cast, and iconic versions of your heroes! WHY ARE YOU RUINING IT?!?!

You fool, Spectacular was cancelled because it was a Sony show and Sony lost the tv rights because Sony wanted an extension on the movie rights. So it was cancelled for the movie, not USM. Even if they weren’t doing USM, Spectacular would have been cancelled regardless.
Marvel had nothing to do with it, blame Sony for thinking the movie rights were more important than the show or Disney buying Marvel, which happened around that time.
Also, EMH was getting low ratings compared to the other Disney shows.

I find it ironic that Marvel does such a good job with their movies normally, but such a poor job with their cartoon series. Cancelling series only to redo them to coincide with whatever movie is out, forces a continual “intro” storyline to always be retold. EMH for example- had gotten much more interesting with the new additions to the team. DC on the other hand-a lot of brilliant cartoon series- but such mediocre movies (except for the most recent Batman franchise). Obviously there are exceptions- Bad Marvel movies, and bad DC animated series, but it holds true for the most part.

Okay here’s my idea:
why not produce avengers animated tv movies each month from this September. Thus we will have 12 tv movies in a year.
The story should start form the beginning.Please stay as true to comics as possible. You don’t need to follow marvel cinematic universe to be a success. Example is marvel comics itself.
And there must be continuity in the movies that’s why I like to call it tv-movie-series. The benefit of such movies is that producers do not need to rush to complete a story in a 22 min episode(ex. 206 Micheal Krovac).
And please make the movies a bit adult themed like actual comics (wolverine and the x-men and the spectacular spider man also suffice).
And guys if you love the avengers show me some support. Remember the two ultimate avengers animated movies produced in 2006? these were awesome. Imagine having them monthly!!!!!!!!!!!

Angry, killing thoughts flood my mind. Loeb, Disney, Marvel idiot(s) who made the decision, on the LIST. EMH wasn’t perfect but it was one of the best (much better than United We Stand). Tried USM, only like the Hulk ep and the Taskmaster ep a little, everything else can lick sh1t, not tolerating it anymore. I’m going to give Hulk AOS and AA a chance and if I hear crappy jokes or see a frakking cutaway, no watch.

Considering the tropes “Token Black Guy” and “The Smurfette” are basically “you get one black/female cast member to even it out” HE’S NOT WRONG.
Black Widow follows the Smurfette principle, and the Falcon follows “TBG” to a T, considering he CALLED OUT being such in the comics.
At least EMH lampshaded this and had rotating members outside of the main team to attempt to combat these tropes.

I have really no intention of watching this show, but if i skim by it, i may watch a little. I don’t like how they are going by the movie with Hawkeye’s new uniform. I like his old uniform. This new one looks like a black shirt with a little purple on it.

You know that producers and directors who think they know what we want is proposterous. He cares more about his vision his art then what the consumer wants this show is in the top 10 super heroes cartoons of all time. Lets put it this way I have an impartial group flow out to just to watch a few episodes of the new avengers and get a sneak preview of what would’ve been season three let the panel decide what would’ve been better.

Given the pathetic bickering about whether Black Widow’s alleged promiscuity makes her a good or bad role model, I can’t say I don’t see why the writers/editors would rather not have a wealth of female characters in the show: no matter what they do, or how they portray a female, somebody somewhere is going to be offended, and start calling people sexist.
That said, my biggest problem is that this is clearly fixing something that isn’t broke. Rather than being an upgrade like Justice League Unlimited, this seems like a downgrade: A:EMH was already pretty good at giving multiple characters a good amount of screen time, and focusing on multiple parts of the Marvel Universe. Why are we doing this? So Disney can say “this is the version WE made?” Sorry, not a good enough reason for me in my opinion. Then too, this is targeted below my age group anyway, and when it comes to companies canceling good things, this wouldn’t be the first time. I guess I should be glad that the series has something of an ending (unlike Silver Surfer). I suppose I should be glad it came back for a second season at all (and not end up like Wolverine and the X Men). It’s been fun guys, good run.

Devil’s Advocate – this might – MIGHT – be a good thing. Considering that EMH is going to be 52 episodes – 52! I’m not complaining, as long as the ending is satisfactory.
And Jeph Loeb was a GOOD writer back in the day – the man wrote Batman: The Long Halloween, for Kirby’s sake. True, his writing has declined in quality – but this new show might actually be decent. We never know.
Hell, for all we know, the episodic format might be a good thing – it worked for the DCAU (Well. Batman, anyway).
Am I disappointed that EMH is cancelled? Oh, hell yes. Am I convinced that this NEW show will be teh suck and awful?…No, I’m going to have to wait and see.

BOOOOOO!!! Loved A:EMH. It just started to develop and now we gotta start all over again and see the same character development for the first year. Bad move. Not interested. Art looks bland. EMH at least had a new look. Agree with some of the posts about Widow and Falcon. Poor choice. Wasp shook it up. Widow will likely flatline the dialogue. Love Haweye but he needs the purple mask. The EMH arc with the Leader was fantastic! Wanted to see more as the Leader (a main-stay villain for the Hulk) has NEVER been done right except on EMH.

If Marvel was smart “Big If I know” they would tie this new cartoon into EMH. Kinda how DC did with the JLA, and JLAU.
Don’t just end one cartoon to produce another one. It’s almost like re-starting a whole comic line, or a U, just to boost ratings…. Wait didn’t DC do that already? SMH Marvel.
FYI Young Justice is a better brand of cartoon, and they’re already picking them up for two more seasons…. Step your game up!

The season long story arcs were what made the show great, it had contained story within each episode but they all connected, that’s how comics are, it doesn’t bother me getting a new show if its good, but if its just villain of the week style episodes that is going to make it hard to watch.
Also hoping its nothing like ultimate spider-man, I have no idea what that’s about its nothing like the ultimate spider-man comics, its difficult to watch as a comic fan in general, not to throw DC into the mix here but I’m definitely not a DC fan, I read a few titles of course but their shows are terrible since justice league was cancelled until they started young justice which has been great because it does have an indepth story, any way, I’m rambling so that is all.

My only problem with EMH was the mask Hawkeye wore, I know he wore it in the old comics but it just looked ugly to me on screen. Saying that I like the new Hawkeye here and this whole poster looks amazing. Still would choose EMH though considering it has great voice actors, great stories and wonderful action scenes and dialogue.

EMH is a really great show and I am sad to see it go.
Things I’ll miss:
* A Hulk with a personality
* A smartass Hawkeye
* A larger than life Captain America
* Black Panther making Wakanda his top priority
* Wakanda
* Team members fighting team members
* Growing and Shrinking powers
* Asgard episodes
* Black Widow doing shadowy spy things and not so much superheroics
* A regularly changing roster
* Lots of bad guys
* SuperMax Super Villain Prisons
* That S.O.B. Baron Zemo
* Story arcs of all lengths
* Regular appearances and references to a Marvel world beyond the scope of the movies so far
* The writers’ freedom
Things I’ll look forward to:
* Movie Iron Man
* Movie Captain America
* Maybe some everyday life between battles for these heroes in general
* More Thor
* Movie Loki
* Joss Whedon’s direct or indirect influence
We’ll see if the new show is any good, but I guess my biggest concern is the idea that it will be congruent with the movie. I really enjoyed all the movies, but the characters and stories are all at least a little toned down for the movies (for the semblance of realism) which can be restrictive for cartoons. Plus, the show will have to refrain from making permanent changes to the team or to the characters for the sake of congruity with the previous films and any future films. I’d really prefer separate stories in separate mediums.

The only marvel movies I did not like are the avengers movie sorry but I think it could have been better and because they only had Thor, cap, iorn man,hulk,nick,black widow, and hawkeye. They arnt the only avengers and nick and black widow arnt even avengers in the comics. The other movie I don’t like is Thor. Also sorry but my religion. “Cristion” I do like Thor and his personality and I think he is a pretty bad ass avenger. I have a feeling the new AA will be just like the movie. This sucks Avengers EMH rules.

This is a tragic and unspeakably BAD decision and if any show has ever deserved a reprieve it’s this one.
No animated show has EVER captured the spirit of Marvel so well.
I really don’t know why you can’t have Avengers EMH to honor and introduce a new generation to the classic Marvel that Stan Lee built AND the Avengers Assemble show for the Quesada Ultimates-era spin.

Well so many of you complaining about what is abuse, how many females on a team, pros vs cons of a promiscuous character.
Here’s my list for everyone. Stark is a slut, only diff with him vs “conventional meaning of a slut” is he pursues multiple parterns vs a conventional slut allows multiple pursuers to go all the way with them (though in stories never all at the same time). They even had lines with Stark verbally expressing his interest at various women throughout this season, even the ones already involved with men (he flirted with Wasp and also with Invisible Woman, I believe he flirted with Ms. Marvel too). It’s such a huge part of his character even the kids cartoon Superhero Squad Show has Stark asking/trying for every female character’s number that pops up on the show. Having some characters seem promiscuous, especially women, is a good way to expose audiences to the fact that not all women will behave as society expects them or even the way you the audience might want them to behave.
I’m a strait black male and a big fan of sexual, assertive, powerhouse/highly skilled women in any form of entertainment. With that I say there’s never enough women; though Avengers EMH season 2 was pleasantly refreshing having so many diverse women cameo the series. Enchantress, Wasp, Black Widow, Ms. Marvel (Marvel’s answer to Superman and Supergirl lol), Mockingbird and Viper (though these 2 hadn’t made a very large impact), Hel, Sif, Agent Hill temporary Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Brand XO or CO of S.W.O.R.D. (I was suspicious she might be Sentinel B since Geirich is the Director), that girl with the cyborg suit that makes high frequency sonics was her name Quake? I was wondering if they’d air the Rogue vs Ms. Marvel story arc as a self-contained episode(s). Does anyone remember the previous Avengers cartoon that lasted only 12/13 episodes I believe produced by Fox Kids. That team had Scarlett Witch and Tigra.
As for abuse. Avengers EMH was just touching relational abuse. Definately relational neglect and misconduct but hardly abuse. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this situation AND how many episodes it lingered/festered and eventually blew up. That was some serious real life drama. Just enough for kids to learn a lesson without witnessing anything too adult for their understanding. Good job not wussing out on the realism Marvel/Disney. I was very imipressed to see such a theme in the cartoon, that was some 1991 X-Men quality drama right there.
To poster Jules: You’re not quite correct that Black Widow only appeals to male fans. Many girls and women are genuinely attracted to her. I’m sure many of which are vicarious reasons. You have to remember that it just makes sense for superheroes & superheroines to physically appear superior to the average person too. The idea is that the hero(ine) train constantly very hard, intend to look intimidating in some sense to others, also sometimes need to appear completely contrary to their private life. Also women value appearance very high (vanity has always been a woman’s greatest weakness) so not only would most women want to show off their hard work and get attention for their hard work. It would play against womens’ fantasies to hide the positive results of such physical training. However I agree with you that girls need to see that sexualizing women is not the only way to go.

Also to add to the relational neglect and misconduct with Wasp and Ant Man. Both of them were simultaneously right and wrong with how they handled their relationship. Their problem was they both wanted something different out of the Avengers and for a purpose in life and from each other other but neither one would try to accommodate the other so naturally the couple separated though mostly only professionally. I really enjoyed having this kind of mature situation in a cartoon.

SPOILERS DOWN BELOW!!!! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED !!
I’m really pissed off, just like the rest of you, that the show will not come back for a third season. Having seen the entire second season now, I’m a bit dissapointed at how this season scored poorly compared to the first one. Some story arcs were never completely finished… For instance, we don’t really know what happened to Loki or the Enchanteress. The season had started out nicely, but as it went on, it sort of went from “We are a team, we are Avengers” to “this is a show about how Captain America saves the day, with the help of some random heroes”. I mean, I know the movie was a hit, but the Avengers is not about ONLY those four they mention in the more-than-lame opening sequence of season 2, especially since they sort of discarded the Hulk for most of the season (and I love the Hulk…!). I always tend to vouch for what people would call the supporting cast, but never in Season 1 have I felt that Panther, Wasp or Ant-Man/Giant-Man were only supporting cast. In the second season, Panther didn’t appear a lot, and Pym (the REAL one, not the Ultimate one…), who is my favorite character, was in maybe four episodes in all. What a way to treat a founding member… Hawkeye was in more episodes, probably only because the character was also in the movie… At least Panther had his moment to shine in “Operation Galactic Storm”. A good 1 min of fame for the Wacondan. And the way they handled the Yellowjacket episode was both great and soooo bad. Great because we got Hank back, bad because unlike in the cartoon, he didn’t snap out of it (the split personality thing) afterwards, and the way he took on the YJ personna wasn’t either logical or fitting with the character. And since everyone loves a happy ending, I was more than dissapointed to see that his relationship with Wasp, although exploited at length and very cleverly in the first season, was almost unheard of since episode 18. I know the show is family-oriented and all, but would it have been too hard at least to give the Wasp the kiss she so wanted?
I felt that the last episodes, although written by Chris Yost (I think) were a bit hastily concluded, and left me wanting more. I mean, watching the last episode, I kept thinking “how in the world are they going to defeat Galactus in ten minutes flat??”. It could have been easily two or three episodes just on that, and no one would have complained! So, all in all, I feel the show would have benefitted greatly from a third season, even a half-one, at least to tie in together the loose ends that we, as fans, feel have been left too loose for our taste.
Do I think the new show will be better? Nope. Will I watch it? Probably, at least just to see what it’s like. I don’t expect to like it, since it seems so far to have elements from “The Ultimates” rather than the mainstream universe. OK, so did the movie, but it still was handled very well. I could revise my opinion if ever they include Pym in an upcoming Avengers movie and make the character like in The Ultimates (ie a complete jack@$$) rather than the good guy in the mainstream comics (if you don’t agree, re-read your classics. Hank Pym is a very good guy. With a somewhat troubled mind, carrying a lot of guilt around, but a very good guy nevertheless).
So in my completely utopian state of mind, I will say “Please don’t cancel Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”. It’s the best show that’s ever been! Give it at least another season!
Heck, it’s probably as utopic as thinking that supervillains can be rehabilitated… guess all I got left to do is lock myself up in my lab and turn crazy…

This is the best marvel show ever and it’s my 3rd favorite show (next to snl and big bang theory) but this show is awesome. There are a lot of things they haven’t covered yet, like surtur and freeing the enchantress. What I read was that the story arcs were too long, who cares, Google it or watch it online. The tmnt series (2003) story arcs were long, it had 7 seasons, the shredder was in the 1st to the 7th season, I didn’t know what was going on, so I googled it. Simple as that.
In conclusion, you guys canceling the show will make a big impact, my friend is mad and he just started watching the show ( he loves spider man ) so cancel the show = bad idea.

I still have hope that EMH won’t be cancelled, if you check on the anywhere on the internet, it is impossible to find an actual quote from Marvel or Disney itself saying it is cancelled. I’m pretty sure this was just a rumor that some moron came up with to scare some fans into believing it’s over. I really REALLY want it remain on air as long as possible.

Sad to see this show go. I have been waiting for the new season as the plot was well made out. Just saw the roster for the new show, AA, it looks just as dull as the movie was (yes sry, i found the Avengers movie dull and boring).
What disney has done i snot surprising, since it goes for all normal cartoons, they barely exceed a 2 or 3 seasons. 52 episodes is a sad excuse to even say that it existed comparing to alot of anime which run for 10 years with an episode releasing once per week. 52 episodes, that’s just one season of naruto. I really found that disney has just did what they always do. They ate it, got all the nutrients, shit it and flushed.

I hope Black Widow gets a bigger role in this show, I was upset at how little she was on AEMH, and I’d just like to say to all the adult fans out there who think that any of the female characters are bad role models, I’m a 13 year old girl and watching this show is not going to rub off on me, it’s a TV show, just because Black Widow has killed a lot of people doesn’t mean that I’m going to kill a bunch of people, in fact I had been following Black Widow before she even appeared in Iron Man 2. Jan is really annoying, nuf said. I don’t like the fact that they got rid of Black Panther and put in Falcon (who I really couldn’t care less about) T’Challa was a great character, I also liked how the show sometimes had Wakanda in it. So really what I’m trying to say is that I’m going to watch AA before I go judging it because seriously that’s only the promo picture and anyway I’ve seen that picture of Black Widow else where so for all we know this might not even be the final character designs. Give the show a chance and if you watch it and still don’t like it then you can start moaning in stead of going ape shit about on picture.

Yeah, kinda wondered about the Galact-us thing too. It was indeed a weird way to end the season, after a long story line with the Kree-Skrull conflict. Felt like “hey, guys….we’re one episode short! What’ll we write about? Oh, I know! Let’s take possibly the most badass adversary in the Marvel Universe and shove his story into 22 minutes! Ok, lunch!”

I’m with the crowd who’s disappointed with the first part of this news. I thought they really had a winner with the EMH offering, and I thought it was a shining example of why Marvel kicks DC’s ass all day long. Mind you, I’m also a fan of the various Justice League incarnations (most notably Young Justice, which is pretty darned good), but Marvel has always done a better job of fleshing out its characters into quasi-real people, superpowers aside.
All that said….hey, let’s give them a chance, eh? Maybe we’ll come out of the first season of Avengers Assemble shouting from the rooftops about how great it is! Let’s see the replacement before we condemn it.

Great read’ guys and gals. I’m new to all this and have recently got into this whole superhero thing. Purchased the AEMH vol1-4 and absolutely loved the story lines and animation. Will be getting vol 5. Can anyone tell me if this will be the last retail release? Concerned as there are further episodes. If it’s to be cancelled at least we should have the full run made available.
An absolute naff idea to have a series tied to the movie continuity. Restricts storylines therefore drama. Should be treated as two separate entities. What’s the point of having the animated series tied into the movie’ if the same actors aren’t used for the voices?
Shoot me down in flames, but DC/WB have handled their animated features far better.

actually emh is getting a 3rd season on xd in may of 2013 so yea its coming back adding in scarlet witch quicksilver and Namor the Sub-Mariner they will also face old villians and some new ones including magneto and thanos plus team ups with the xmen punisher and the inhumns are planed so look forward to it

Damn it. How am I now just hearing this (most likely because season 2 wasn’t as good as season 1 so I stopped caring).
I loved how they used the founders in EMH. No one remembers the founders I swear, and they are my favorite (specifically wasp). Also – was I the only one who liked Yellowjacket’s lines in the few he got? I think most people did – but I need to shut up about this.
I think marvel is forgetting the old comic books exist and now the Avengers movie is the most important thing ever. -.-’ It was lovely, but I love the founder avengers more. (Totally biased opinion

No! Why is it that all the bad shows are left on for years and then a really good show comes on and it’s shut off after only a few short seasons. This show doesn’t even have my favorite avengers in it. Wasp was a founding member of the avengers and should be in here. Jan was a perfect mix of seriousness and sarcasm. Plus they took out tichala (aka the black panther) and hank. I wasn’t a big fan of mrs marvel so that doesn’t bother me too much plus they’re starting all over again and she wasn’t a founding member. Plus the black widow is just portrayed terribly in the movie and this series is based off the movie. This series just doesn’t look as good as EMH. I guess I’ll just give it a chance but I will always remember the series that got me introduced to comics and got me interested in everything marvel.
