Chloe Bennett joins the cast of S.H.I.E.L.D as Skye

Chloe Bennet Headshot - P 2012

Well it seems the cast of the S.H.I.E.L.D pilot is now complete as actress Chloe Bennet, has been officially cast as Skye, the last of the regular characters to feature in Joss Whedon’s upcoming TV series.

Skye is described as “ a confident woman who is slightly obsessed with superhero culture and the shadow organizations that exist within it. She’s edgy and can out-talk anyone with her unflappable nature.”

Chloe Bennett will film the pilot next month along with Clark Gregg (As Agent Phil Coulson), Ming Na, Brett Dalton, Elizabeth Henstridge and Ian de Caestecker. Rumors have it that Cobbie Smulders will reprise her role from the movie as Maria Hill, but nothing has been confirmed so far. Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel Television division, stated that the show should be in the air next fall.

Watch the full Pride of the X-men pilot episode

Back in the late 80′s, when Spider-man and his amazing friends was a hit show, Marvel ordered a pilot for a proposed X-men animated series. The pilot was animated by Toei Animation studios (famous for their quality anime series at the time) and focused on the Uncanny X-men comics of the time that were written by Chris Claremont. Unfortunately the series was not picked up, as Marvel was having financial difficulties, and it was not until the 1992 where an X-men animated series was finally given the green light, and became of the best animated series based on a comic book. So take a seat or lay down, relax and launch the video below which is the full 22 minute pilot titled “Pryde of the X-men”. Enoy:

What did you think of the pilot? and what about Wolverine’s accent? Please let us know in the comments section.

Jeph Loebs reveals probable SHIELD series debut, Samuel Jackson is, so far, not part of the project

The S.H.I.E.L.D TV series pilot is about be shot next month. Avengers director, Joss Whedon, will be directing the pilot and co-writing it with wife Maurissa Tancharoen, and borther Jed Whedon. While many fans have specualted that the show will debut sometimes in 2013 on ABC, Marvel TV division honcho, Jeph Loeb, made it clear that they are hoping for the show to be on the air in fall 2013 season.

Jeph Loeb: “We have a “little” pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. co-written, directed, and Executive Produced by none other than Joss Whedon! Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!

In related news, Samuel Jackson, who portrayed the director of Shield, Nick Fury, in the Marvel cinematic universe, stated that he has not been approached to be part of the series. “I don’t know. I keep hearing about it, and I haven’t talked to Joss about it. But in my mind, I would tend to think that he would, if nothing else, be like Charlie in ‘Charlie’s Angels.’ At least be the voice!” Said actor Samuel Jackson when asked, by MTV, about his appearance on the show.

Season 2 of Ultimate Spider-man set to debut next month, and we have the first episodes details

The controversial Ultimate spider-man cartoon was met with a lot of hate and criticism from fans, yet proved to be a successful show for Disney XD (although rumors claim it is not the case). The first season of the show ended last month and we now have confirmation that the second season will debut January 21st with a one hour special.

The one hour special will offer two episodes, first one titled “Lizard” and the second one “Electro”. A third episode is set to air the following Sunday January 27th and it is titled “Rhino”.

As you can see from these episodes titles, the show runners might have felt the fans outcry for more  ”Real” spidey villains, hence why we are getting three of them in the first 3 episodes of the second season. Here is hope that they cut down on the comedy, remove the 4th wall breaking, unfunny, jokes, and get spidey on solo mode way more.

Keep checking back as we try to get more info on the second season of Ultimate spider-man.

Brett Dalton will join Clark Gregg, Ming Na, Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker, in the TV series helmed by Avengers director Joss Whedon.
